Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good cocktail, and with temperatures in Orlando hanging out in the 90’s I am on the search for the perfect summertime cocktail to keep me cool.

Whether it is beer, wine, or a mixed drink I can always find something to help lower my temperature. Here are a few of my favorite libations that are perfect for the neighborhood block party, worshiping the sun gods while the kids swim, or calming down after having to settle yet another fight over whose turn it is to play Minecraft.

Beer Me

Yuengling

Now this may not be a favorite of most in Central Florida, but growing up in Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Yuengling is a beer that makes me think of cookouts and summertime bonfires. It’s not one of the fanciest beers, but it has a comforting and tasty quality to me. Also, I rarely say this, but it tastes best out of a can.

Funky Buddha Brewery

Since moving to Florida a few years ago my husband and I have tried drinking some more local beers and have really liked Funky Buddha. They offer a variety of beers from IPA to porter to hefeweizen with my personal favorite being the Floridian Hefeweizen.

Wine Not?

Anything from Aldi

Listen, I’m not fancy when it comes to my wine and mostly that is because up until recently I wasn’t a wine drinker. I would always be the girl with the beer. Recently, however, I decided to dip my toe into the Aldi wine shelf and try the $8 bottle of rosé that landed itself on the World’s Best list. This wine isn’t always available {as with most things at Aldi}, so when in doubt I grab a $3 bottle of white and that works out perfect for me.

Cocktail Hour

Mojitos

I love a classic minty mojito, but sometimes the sugar content is just too strong. Last summer I created an Orange Mint Mojito using a little bit of stevia, fresh juice, and La Croix {I’m addicted, don’t judge}. It is perfect for filling my Tervis tumbler before hitting the pool.

Limoncello

This summer my dad got married {yay Daddy!} and for their toast they did something different from the classic champagne…we had shots of creamy limoncello and I am now addicted! It is smooth and refreshing without being too overpowering. On my bucket list for the summer is to try it over some French Vanilla ice cream. Yummy.
