I love Florida blueberry season, which runs April til June. Thanks to the work at the University of Florida over the past three decades, we get to enjoy hundreds of small blueberry farms across Florida.
Before you head out to the farm, weave in a learning opportunities into the adventure. Reading “Blueberries For Sal” or “The Blueberry Elf” can add personality to the trip. Get into the kitchen when you return home. While you bake your delicious muffins, pancakes, and cobbler, your children will learn to appreciate farm to table food, learn hands-on math skills, a little bit of science, and a whole lot of awesome memories of being together!
