Escape From City Life For A Few Hours

Life with kids is go go go go go and then go some more. Right?! Do you ever just want to slow down? I do!

While pondering ways to find a stress relief for my little one and me, I stumbled upon one of Central Florida’s best kept secrets.

Big Red Pony Parties

Big Red Pony Parties is a Non-Profit Organization. The owner purchased property to rescue a horse (Big Red). Well, a whole lotta horses and other animals later, they found themselves needing help to support all their rescued animals. That’s when Big Red Pony Parties was created.

It was her dream to own a horse. It was the thing that her and her dad did together when she was young.

This farm is located 15 minutes away from our home. We loved not having travel too far.

Look at how scenic the farm is. Ahhh peace and quiet. Except for the occasional “baaaaa” from the goats and sheep.

“Yes, sweety, a duck says quack.”

Ummm… I think …. just maybe…. my little one was excited! That face says it all. My little one is obsessed with animals. All day long I hear random animal noises followed by the name of the animal. “Yes, sweety, a duck says quack.”

Our private farm visit started with making treats for the horses. What a creative way to kick off our adventure. Horse treats are really easy and sticky (kids don’t mind the sticky part lol). Carrots, molasses, and oats were the only ingredients needed.

You can paint the pony!

The whole time we were making treats, there was a teeny tiny pony by our table. She was nibbling away on grass (who needs a lawn mower when you have a horse HAHA). Once those scrumptious treats were done (and put in the freezer) we were able to paint, yes paint, this sweet girl. Making a mess and painting, does it get any better? Oh it really does!

GOATS!!!

Next up on our fabulous adventure, feeding the goats. Watch out, it tickles!

That’s me with a 9 day old precious baby! I was in heaven. Almost secretly stuck this little one in the diaper bag to bring home.

While I was snuggling away with the baby goat, daddy and the little one explored the chicken’s home and had a race with some ducks. All the while, I could hear my little one giggling away. Music to this mom’s ears.

Saddle Up! (Or not)

The farm offers pony rides. However, my little one wasn’t having it. There is always next time.

Parents should really bring their children in a place where big cities’ shadow can’t be seen 🙂 I admire you, Mary.. And may you take us in an awesome getaway again.. Blessings!
