Friendship February! What better way to celebrate than with lunch out with the girlfriends. It can be hard to find a place that has something for everyone and is kid friendly as well. I heard that the new Whole Foods Market in Altamonte Springs would be the perfect spot. I wasn’t sure how it would work out for a lunch meet-up, but it never hurts to try. I was not disappointed.
When I walked in the door I was blown away by the new design and space. The new store is an amazing place, but the best part for me is the Cafe. It has something for everyone’s taste buds.
The Bar selections can be mind boggling. Dozens of fresh soups, hot bar based on International Cuisine, cold grain salads full of flavor, and an extensive salad bar with rows of toppings. You create your plate and it is priced based on weight – $8.99 lbs. Soup comes in 3 sizes $2.99 – $9.99 32 oz.
Not sure what your eating? They have that covered as well. Each item has an ingredient list and information to make the right choice for you.
The Altamonte Springs store has a Pizza Cafe. The Whole Foods Market pizzas are made with “double zero” caputo flour from Italy, tomatoes from San Marzano, Italy ,and cheese made with milk from cows not treated with rBGH. YUMMY!
In the deli area you can order different combinations of open-faced toast. In addition, more fresh vegetable mixtures, roasted chicken, and grain/rice side dishes.
This lunch date, I choose a fresh chicken teriyaki stir-fry bowls. There is a choice of steak, chicken and tofu as the protein and different vegetable flavor blends. The portion size was so large, I took half home.
Lisa had no problem finding that perfect lunch for our littlest lady.
You can not forget dessert! The selection of pastries, cookies, and cakes are mouth watering. The coffee and fresh juice bar are on the list to try on my next visit.
This store location has created an indoor and outdoor cafe area, which allows you to enjoy the company of your friends and indulge in a healthy lunch without breaking the bank. There are microwave ovens available to heat it up a little more if needed.
Lunch out with the with some of the OMB co-contributors was perfect! We had a great time and plan on doing it again real soon. Call up a friend or two this month and make it a Friend February.
