disclaimer: I was paid to write this post, however I did purchase a large box of Space Girl Organics produce. The post is 100% true and my kids really DID get excited and I really DID feel like Mother of the Year. My hubby was probably more excited than anyone, because he has started this crazy low-carb diet. WHY?! Why must he do this to me? He says that he doesn’t expect me to do the diet with him, but now I feel like the jerk who is sitting across the table with a big piece of pie while he eats broccoli… anyway…

I love gardening. I love the thought of digging up a space in the yard for my garden. Enriching the sandy, nutrient-deficient Florida soil. Then going to the store, buying tomato plants and herbs and…um…more tomato plants. I try. I really do. But my attempt to produce a thriving garden (of tomatoes) is lack-luster. I digress.

So off to the store I go to pick out my produce for the week. The organic section is where my heart desires to go, but inevitably price wins over quality, and I go home with my produce. And even though I justify the cost/quality battle, the produce gets put away in the kitchen unenthusiastically.

So what’s up with my Charlie Brown attitude towards my produce?! Why the need for bells and whistles?! Well, I hope I’m not the only mom on the planet to admit this, but fruits and vegetables are almost as challenging to get excited about now as when I was a kid. Please tell me I’m not alone. I mean, my relationship with produce isn’t TERRIBLE, however I think we all need a little convincing from time to time to choose the carrots and not the cake, AMIRITE?!

Then recently I discovered Space Girl Organics. I purchased the large box option, thinking that with my family of 5, we would need the big box. (Have you seen my son?!) Anyhoo, I went online and chose from the list of items I did and did not want. Thursday rolled around, and OH. MY. GOODNESS. It was like Christmas at my front door. It was as if a garden was delivered to my front door. AND IT HAD MORE THAN JUST TOMATOES!

I unpacked the box, and immediately wanted to create a beautiful display of this goodness. BELLS AND WHISTLES, folks! Bells and whistles.

Seriously, I was so excited to plan meals with the goodies on display. When the kids came home from school, I was like, “Kids! Come check out the kitchen!” Ha! I felt like Mother of the Year when they asked if it was OK for them to eat it or not. UM, YES!!! After I get one more picture!

So how does Space Girl Organics work, and should you give it a try?
