{Mother’s Day Gift Series} Cherish the Tangible — Artifact Uprising

We are pleased to give you our honest review of Artifact Uprising. We were not paid for this review, however we did receive the product in exchange for our opinions.

As a mom, I am an avid photographer. Always trying to capture and preserve those precious memories. In our digital age of photography, though, it is very easy to not actually do something with those beautiful pictures. Whether you make an intentional effort to regularly order prints or you order yourself or a loved one a photo gift, there are definitely ways to keep those memories alive.

That’s why I was thrilled to be introduced to Artifact Uprising. They are a small business with eco-conscious roots (love!). Through their website, you can order prints, photo books, and photo gifts. They use recycled papers and wood products from locally-sourced fallen beetle-kill pine. I especially have fallen in love with their mantra – “Off Your Device, Into Your Life. Inspired by the Disappearing Beauty of the Tangible”.

I was able to order and review their wood block + prints. As stated on their site, ‘ gift item is a simple way to create a rotating art display with 12 of your photos that sit as textured paper prints in a wood block.’

It was fun to design the 12 prints in the editor area online. Being a mom on the go, I don’t always have ready access to my external hard drive, so it was super helpful that you could also pull images from Instagram, dropbox, and VSCO. Also, once you have created your free account with Artifact Uprising, you can store your previous projects & photos, so you can reuse those galleries down the road.

I was not expecting the added features to the design feature of being able to add borders to the pictures, text, and even a colored background. I tried several of the options on my prints and was pleased with the result!

The block is heavy but not too heavy, so definitely not something I’m worried about my little one handling. Definitely a plus for us mamas! The versatility Artifact Uprising offers through it’s product of being about to easily swap out the pictures is refreshing to any space that you display it.
