Dollar Stores.

Check out your local dollar stores and thrift shops for low cost decorations, candy, and even parts of the kids costumes.

Costume Swap.

Plan a costume swap with other moms. Costumes are usually only worn once. Getting together right before Halloween and swapping last years costumes is a great way to avoid paying high prices for a new costume.

Look for coupons.

Check the Sunday coupon inserts for coupons on candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters that come to your home. You can also find coupons on costumes and decor.

Stay close to home.

Don’t spend extra money driving around town. Trick or treat in your own neighborhood. Or, head to a local Fall Festival.

Do it yourself!

DIY decorations are not only budget friendly, but tons of fun for the kids. Make a family day out of it.

Shop the day after!

Another great tip is to shop the AFTER Halloween clearance to save on next years costumes and decorations. You can save up to 90% if you’re patient.
