If you have yet to visit this LEGO wonderland, I’ve compiled some important info for your first trip!

Here’s What to Expect on Your First Trip to LEGOLAND Florida!

The Arrival

From the moment we arrived, everything was really easy going from parking to having our bags checked. Not only is their preferred parking up close, but it’s covered by solar panels. Definitely a nice upgrade. One of the things I was really happy with was the fact that you can bring in your own food. We were able to save some money since we have four mouths to feed, although the food at LEGOLAND is quite affordable.

Food

It is nice though to have a warm meal to fully embrace the theme park experience. You’re certain to get your fill at Fun Town Pizza and Pasta Buffet. That’s right! All you can eat for $19 for adults and $13 for kids. If you do not want the buffet, they have nine other locations scattered around in the 14 different play zones. From pizza, to pasta, to burgers, to tacos, to Chinese, to salads, to various styles of chicken… there’s something for everyone whether it’s a quick bite to go or a sit down experience. And to satisfy your sweet tooth, you can top it off with some ice cream from one of five sweet stops including Firehouse Ice Cream or the tasty Granny’s Apple Fries.

Rides

Most of the rides have a 34-44 inch height requirement and might require an older co-rider. The park is divided into different areas so there is a little bit to do for everyone in the family. From Duplo Valley, Heartland Park, Ninjago World, Kingdoms, Technic, Pirates Cove, Land of Adventure, Fun Town, LEGO Movie World, and LEGO City, the fun does not stop. Rides for kids if all sizes, but also areas to just build and create no matter the age.

If you have a little one, they have something called Tot spots. It is a miniature playground for toddlers, so I loved that my little guy could play with LEGOS, go down slides, and run a round. The park is divided into different areas so there is a little bit to do for everyone in the family. From Duplo Valley, Heartland Park, and LEGO City, the fun does not stop.

Duplo Valley is more tailored for younger kids with rides and play spots and a splash pad, all the way down to babies with their own play yard in the big red barn that’s equipped with an amazing changing room that also has private nursing rooms and high chairs for feeding.
Technic area is tailored more for the older kids, though there is a tot spot for littles to play while they wait. Nestled up in the back of this area is a hidden little path that you can see the working stations of the creators who assemble many of the builds around the park.
Some of my family’s favorite rides are Lost Kingdom Adventure zapping characters, Ninjago the Ride with “karate chop” hand moves, and two Driving Schools for both kids under 5 and a larger one for older kids. A large part of our day is based around playing with LEGOs in the Imagination Zone and at every ride. Another favorite is looking at all the details in Miniland USA. Holidays they hide extra details. We are looking forward to our next trip to try the new Pirate River Quest. It’s a free floating boat ride treasure hunt through the Cypress Gardens. Oh yah!

Entertainment

If you like Pirates, you will enjoy the Pirate’s Cove water ski show by the lake. While you’re in that area, take a lovely stroll through the Cypress Gardens and see the giant Banyan tree that was planted as a seedling in 193! If you just want to get out of the sun for a little while and relax in the air conditioning, I recommend heading over to LEGOLAND’s 4-D movie theater that seats 700 people. You can watch one of four movies every half hour. The LEGO Movie 4D : A New Adventure, LEGO Ninjago : Masters of the 4th Dimension, LEGO City 4D : Officer in Pursuit, and LEGO Mythica : Journey to Mythica 4D. Can’t forget to get a few character photo opportunities. There is usually one before the 4D shows, plus LEGO Movie characters at Emmet’s house, Kingdom characters by the castle, and my favorite is meeting the ninjas in Ninjago. When you first walk in the park, take a pic of the show times and character board. Holidays have special builds, characters, and shows. Plus LEGOLAND also has a waterpark!

Accommodations

LEGOLAND Hotel, which is literally right next to the park, is a five-story, 152-room hotel that immerses guests into a creative LEGO world designed to bring children’s imaginations to life. More than two million LEGO bricks make up over 2,000 LEGO models throughout the hotel. The LEGOLAND Hotel is built for kids to take control, with LEGO surprises around every corner. Enjoy group games, dance parties, building class with a Master Builder, roasting marshmallows by a camp fire, playing mini golf, swimming, and of course playing with Legos all over the hotel. There are five themes you can choose from for your room; Ninjago, Kingdom, Friends, Lego Movie, and Adventure. In 2020 the hotel received an expansion of a whole new 5 story wing all in Pirates Cove theme. And if it be water ye searching for matey… check out the cute LEGOLAND Beach Retreat across the street. Stay in a bungalow that looks like a LEGO house, swim in the pool that’s pond side and has its own private beach. Here’s some info about the hotel.

Tickets

Ticket prices are also affordable and if you search online you can find a “kids free ticket with a paid adult” coupon. Sometimes fast food places will have them as well as if you sign up for the Lego Magazine. If you are local and love Legos then I would just encourage an annual pass. Check out this link for prices, and special events such as Star War Days. If you do get an annual pass from LEGOLAND you get discounts at SeaLife Aquarium, Madame Tussauds, and The Orlando Eye!
